1. Heroes League Interzone: Volleyball and Basketball Tournament (2022-2023)

All athletes from sixteen zones of Barangay Rizal actively participated in Heroes League Interzone: Basketball and Volleyball Tournament from 2022 to 2023.

 

As the limitations of the pandemic were lifted, it signaled the beginning of conducting physical games in barangay. The interzone was composed of the sports Basketball and Volleyball and were divided into various categories.

 

Basketball has the following categories; Kids for 12 years old to 18 years old, Midget for 19 years old to 25 years old and Junior for 26 years old to 35 years old players. For the sports Volleyball, it was open for players 18 years old and above both for men and women category. 

 

For two consecutive years, SK Rizal were able to provide quality games by inviting professional referees and game committees to facilitate the whole tournament. All the players also received complete uniforms for free. A total of 1000 uniforms were distributed to players and the committee. Sports equipment like balls, nets, scoresheet and digital scoreboard were all procured to have a smooth set of games.

 

Winning teams from all the categories received cash prizes, trophies and medals during the awarding ceremony.

2. Makati Games (2022-2023)

Makati Games is an annual sporting event intended for youth athletes of each Barangay in Makati to show their skills and expertise in different sport events.

 

Through the initiative of SK Chairman Ariel “Acko” Gadiane and the SK Council, athletes were provided sets of sports uniforms, food assistance, and given support for the whole duration of Makati Games from 2022 to 2023. 

 

They distributed sets of jerseys, polo shirts, shoes, jackets, towels, tumblers, bottled water, and meals for a total of 200 athletes from different sports. They have also shown their support by providing transportation services during their games.

3. Darts and Chess Tournament (2020-2023)

The first tournament for Darts and Chess started in 2020. Despite limitations during the pandemic, it didn’t hinder the players to have safe and enjoyable games. Due to positive feedback from players in the community, the tournament was continued for consecutive years until 2023. 

 

The SK Council procured equipment such as dart pins, dart boards, stands, scoreboards, chess set, timer and tables. Both players of Darts and Chess also received free uniforms. Winning teams and individuals were also awarded with plaques, medals and cash prizes during the Awarding Ceremony.
